I don't want to get into too much about the virus and what Johnny's role in all the alien plans will be, since it hasn't been fully revealed in the story (though it should be pretty easy to guess), but "fighting" the virus might not be the best way to word it.

Though, in some ways, some of the characters definitely will be fighting the virus.
