Happy Mother's Day

I have a little snippet of a story to share with you in honour of Mother's Day. My weekend at home got me to thinking about how different this day is for different people. I'm pretty tired, so it's not as polished as it could be, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

"So have you had a good day?"

"Yes, it's been great."

"The twins put so much effort into their little picnic lunch. It was perfect."

"I helped them a little."

"Yes, I thought so."

"Were you surprised when Jill showed up?"

"Not really, but it was still nice. I loved the flowers."

"They were pretty."

"Now, if I hear from our boy, my day will be complete."

"Sounds like that might be him now."

"Hello?"

"Happy Mother's Day!"

"Thank you, Johnny. How are Ophelia and Ripp doing? How's your trip?"

"Oh, they're fine. It's going well. You know, it's a trip. Just the usual stuff. Not much to say. So how was your day?"

"Say hi to them for me, okay?"

"Yes, Mom. I will."

"Hey Phi."

"Is Johnny on the phone?"

"Yeah. With Jenny. So... how are you?"

"Oh. I'm fine."

"You got that right. You're damn fine."

"Ripp..."

"You smiled, I saw it. There was a smile there."

"Yeah."

"Come here."

"Happy Mother's Day."

Picnic lunch = win. The twins are so cute.

I like how Ripp and Phi get comfort from each other, and that Johnny is still there for them on Mother's Day. Calling his mother is sweet too.

I also like that Buck came with Jill, because Jenny is probably the closest thing he had to a mother figure (which makes his whole relationship with Jill a little weird, but never mind). It's so sweet.

*squees over the cute hug between Jenny and PT*

jssjhdhdhj I found this a lot more sadder than I probably should have.

Was Tank lonely for mother's day ;_;

Aw, this was nice. Focusing on those with the traditional sense of Mother's Day, and those without. Oftentimes, one can forget that not everyone has "mother" around to celebrate.

I'd be curious to see what Tank and Frances would be up to on this day. ;)

(ps, I realize you got tons of real life stuff you're dealing with, but did you get my PM?)

Aw, I was thinking about Tank, too. Actually, when I first saw that it was a Mother's Day post, I was thinking it would be about Ripp and Lyla.

By the way, I'm sorry about your friend's loss, especially with the timing.

(If it makes you any happier, I just found out that my Frances J. wants to become a Space Pirate. I think it's pretty funny)

I love how it's both sweet and sad. I love the Ripp and Phi moment here - he's so intuitive when it comes to Phi. <33333

This is the second bittersweet Mother's Day fic that showed up on my flist today.

That was bittersweet, indeed. I loved it, although I felt a bit sad for Phi and Ripp in the end. Considering how much the media pushes this day on us, those without mothers must feel alienated.

That's what my mom told me. She lost her mom when she was little and often felt terrible on this day, until she had us. She still misses her mother, of course, but being a mom herself makes her feel included in these celebrations.

I'm so sorry about your friend's loss. :(

Awwww.... Bittersweet, indeed <3

...So...

...Am I the only one that gets a pregnancy vibe from this? Or am I totally off track?

I think I'm kinda confused about the timeline. This is before the wedding, and Sugar Tits?

But it's very sweet, anyway, and a little sad. :(

This is killing me. Seriously, I love anything you post on this blog. The second thing that's killing me is that I haven't played Sims for months. So depressing. :(

I definitely feel for your friend. That's how it was with my grandpa. He passed away a few days before Father's Day. I still feel guilty that I procrastinated and never sent him a card that year.

I think I just melt!

Aww! This is so sweet and sad too. I love it. :) Yay Jill! :)

Also, Opheila is SO preggo! I just know it!
